Abstract

Atypical plagiocephaly—sphenotemporal craniosynostosis—is a rare variant of plagiocephaly. On visual examination, the skull deformity is практически indistinguishable from typical unilateral anterior plagiocephaly. However, detailed analysis of multislice computed tomography (MSCT) enables timely diagnosis and accurate differentiation, which is essential for selecting the appropriate surgical strategy, as it differs from the approach used for plagiocephalic craniosynostosis.
