MODERN ASPECTS OF RADIOLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS OF ACUTE SURGICAL DISEASES OF THE ABDOMEN

Background. Mechanic al jaundice associated with choledocholithiasis is characterized by biliary obstruction, cholestasis, impaired liver function and an increased risk of acute cholangitis and biliary pancreatitis.
Objective. To evaluate the clinical effectiveness of minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic technologies in patients with mechanical jaundice caused by choledocholithiasis and to substantiate an optimal treatment strategy.
Materials and Methods. Clinical data from 47 patients treated at the 3rd Surgical Depar tment of the Clinic of Andijan State Medical Institute between 2023 and 2026 were analyzed. The comparison group included 25 patients and the main group 22 patients. Clinical, laboratory and instrumental methods, including ultrasonography, MSCT cholangiogr aphy and ERCP, were used.
Results. Patients aged 45–59 years accounted for 44.0% of the comparison group and 45.5% of the main group. Women represented 64.0% and 63.6%, respectively. Acute cholangitis occurred in 36.0% and 22.7%, while biliary pancreatitis occurred in 24.0% and 18.2%. An uncomplicated course was observed in 8.0% and 27.3%, respectively. Mean total bilirubin was 168.4±12.6 and 149.2±11.8 μmol/L.
Conclusion. The combined use of ultrasonography, MSCT cholangiography and ERCP enables assessment of stone localization and biliary obstruction. An optimized minimally invasive strategy was associated with improved clinical parameters and a lower frequency of complications.
