Abstract

In female patients with RA of reproductive age, changes in estradiol and progesterone levels support systemic inflammation, which is reflected in the hyperexpression of proinflammatory cytokines. Moreover, in the second phase of the menstrual cycle, the absence of physiological growth of progesterone contributes to their significant hyperexpression. In turn, changes in the concentration of estradiol levels in the blood serum of sick women contribute to an increase in the secretion of IL-40.
