Abstract

ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) remains one of the leading causes of mortality and disability among patients with cardiovascular diseases. Despite advances in contemporary reperfusion therapy, the prognosis of the disease largely depends on timely risk assessment and the selection of the optimal treatment strategy. Therefore, the investigation of the prognostic significance of biomarkers and instrumental parameters capable of assessing the extent of myocardial injury, the risk of complications, and long-term clinical outcomes is of particular importance.
